| State of the Art |
| 06.09.04 (3:37 am) [edit] |

The subject of game playability, game concept and graphics rarely go hand-in-hand. Blatant examples fill the game shops, both excellent concept games with shitty graphic and masterpieces of the pixel with zero content. In this day and age alot of games are analyzed by their "minimum required specs" which refers to computer ability to process graphical data (read your RAM and Graphic Card. As to content....well, I would like to see at least a "minimum concept" requirement. The masterpieces of both are seldom found, games like Black and White, the Total War series, Deus Ex and the Thief Series...which reminds me of the almost sordid idea that the blokes producing/developing Thief 3 had of making lower standard graphic card not supported....It makes me want to go "WTF are you thinking!". Gamers aren't an elite. Gamers are me and you and the next John. And most gamers don't have alot of cash flow or simply (like myself) have to pay bills and leave gaming behind. As such, each time I hear the expression " that game redefined the State of the Art" or something similar I think "Oh shit, not another "go-buy-a-new-expensive-c ard" game..."
